Get Ready For Winters And Rescreen Your Patios

We all love terraces, patios, and gazebos. These areas in our home exterior urge us to spend time there with friends and family along with a mug of coffee. If you have a patio in your home and then it is better to cover it up because winter has started. Sunrays make our days blissful in winters but you cannot openly sit in the sunlight.

Rather it is better to enjoy it in a covered area. Dust, grime, and environmental pollution will disturb you while you busk in bright winter days. Thereby, install a screen over your patio before you get sunburn or skin tanning. The advantages of patio screens are undeniable and you need to install them in your home exterior. If you already have a patio screen but it is damaged then replace it. Here are the following steps to follow to rescreen your patios.

Remove Old Spline And Screen

With the passage of time patio screens get spotty and dusty. You cannot enjoy the weather and time with your family anymore. As winter has started and everyone wishes to enjoy sunny weather this season so it is better to change your old patio screen. You are needed to start by removing the spline and screen. Use a screwdriver and hooks to perform this job. Remove the nails and bolts and at the later stage, you can pull the remaining spline by using your own hand. The same steps can be followed to rescreen doors or porch.

Take Measurements

When you are done with removing the patio screen you need to take measurements of the new screen to be installed. Cut it accordingly if required. The cutting phase is to be dealt with quite tactfully. You have to be wistful when you take measurements. If it is difficult to handle then go on to hire professionals for this purpose. A single mistake will result in buying a new screen or the screen can get damaged.

Get Appropriate Clips

There different types of clips used to install the screen depending upon the screen material that you are using. There are online portals like Amazon from where you can get varying sizes and types of screens and clips. You need to install the screen with the help of these clips. You would probably need some nails depending upon the situation.

Select Rollers

Some types of screens need rollers to be installed with them. These rollers are used to secure the ends of the screen. However, if glass or plastic screens are installed then you would just need screws. When you are done with securing the ends of the screen get a new spline. Install the flat part of the spline into the groove. You would again need to use the roller in order to install the spline.

Now that you are done with spline and the use of rollers there you go with a perfectly installed screen. If you are a newbie then it is advisable to hire professionals rather than trying your own hand.
